As the weather grows warmer, there are so many opportunities to get out and enjoy the season, celebrate community, and make the most of all our Dutchess County area has to offer.

Poughkeepsie Waterfront Market

The Pavilion at Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum

Bring home some of Dutchess County’s natural bounty! This weekly event happens on the shore of the Hudson River. There’s free onsite parking in the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum parking lot, with overflow parking in the Waryas Park lower parking lot.

Innisfree Garden is one of Dutchess County’s best-kept secrets – a truly magical place recognized as one of the world’s “10 Best Gardens.” Explore the 150-acre space as you wander along streams, waterfalls, terraces, retaining walls, rocks, plant, and a lake, all planned along the principles of Chinese landscape design. Advance ticket reservations required. The highlight of opening weekend is their Daffodil Viewing, and it’s stunning.
Dia Beacon
Now Open to the Public
Fridays through Mondays | 10:00am – 5:00pm
3 Beekman Street Beacon
Dia Beacon, located right on the Hudson River, is a one-of-a-kind exhibition space in a former Nabisco box printing factory. The museum presents Dia’s collection of art from the 1960s to the present, as well as special exhibitions and public programs. Advance tickets required. Hudson Valley residents receive free admission to Dia Beacon on the last Sunday of each month.
Bannerman Island & Bannerman Castle Cruise and Walking Tour
Have you ever been on the Metro North train or the Mid-Hudson Bridge, spotted an old castle on a small island in the river, and wondered, What IS that? Here’s your chance to find out, up close and personal. Bannerman Island is one of the most unique locations in Dutchess County. The 30-minute cruise from Beacon and 2.5 hour walking tour is a memorable experience. The Island opens for walking tours on May 2 and offers special live events throughout the summer.
